Korean-American Organization of Lexington

Today we held our annual spring meeting at the Lexington Community Center. We were happy to see a larger group attend than before, and with this energy we began to discuss the upcoming conversion into a non-profit organization. We also discussed the upcoming events, including the K-festival, which garnered lots of interest and ideas. We hope that you are just as excited about this event, which will showcase the many successes of Korean culture. Below is the brief schedule for our events.

봄기운이 물씬 풍기는 4월 초하루인 오늘, 렉싱턴 커뮤니티센터에서 코렉스 봄모임을 가졌습니다. 평소보다 많은 분들이 참석하셔서 화기애애한 분위기 속에 그동안의 활동, 예산집행 및 비영리단체로의 전환에 관한 설명이 있었고, 앞으로 다가올 행사와 활동에 대한 소개가 있었습니다. 특별히 6월에 처음으로 개최하는 코렉스 ‘K-festival’ 를 준비하는데 있어 여러분들의 큰 관심과 아이디어가 돋보였습니다. 함께하는 기쁨 뿐만 아니라 한국인으로서의 긍지와 위상을 높여줄 다가오는 행사에 많은 참여와 관심 부탁드리며 향후 일정을 알려드립니다.

Today many of our KOLex families gathered to celebrate our special, comforting holiday, Seollal. We would like to thank those who helped put together the event, and we wish everyone that a happy, healthy year lies ahead of them.

We would like to thank prof. Mark Yim, prof. Robert Kim, Prof. Eunju Lee, Prof. Juwon Kang, Financial Advisor, MBA Sylvia & Julia Han for their two special hours worth info sessions about college majors and job occupations in economics, finance, and accounting. We will continue to reach out and get to know many other members of the Korean community in Lexington with other specializations. We hope to further create a community with everyone’s support. We hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.

Hello. Thanks all for responding to the survey regarding college majors and career seminars. We at KOLex would like to hold the first College Majors & Careers Info Session (Series #1: Business/Economics) on Saturday, January 27th at 6pm. As a result of the survey, 55.6% showed the most interest in the business field, and most preferred the Zoom meeting format and Weekend Evening over In-Person. In addition, participants showed interest in engineering, computer science, and medicine, and we plan to hold series in these fields in the future if conditions allow.
The list of speakers for this first session and the Zoom link are on the poster below. Professors and experts in finance, accounting, and marketing who live in Lexington will give presentations and have a Q&A session with you. It is open to any students (they don’t have to be KSLC students). Hope may of you can join this seminar!

안녕하세요.저희 KOLex가 첫번째 College Majors & Careers Info Session (Series #1: Business/Economics)을 1월27일 토요일 저녁 6시에 개최하고자 합니다.
설문 결과 Business 분야에 55.6%로 가장 많은 관심을 보여주셨고, In-Person 보다는 Zoom 미팅 형식 그리고 Weekend Evening을 가장 선호해주셨습니다. 그외 Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine 등에도 관심을 보여주셨고, 향후 여건이되면 이 분야 Series 도 개최할 예정입니다. 대학 전공및 커리어 세미나와 관련한 설문에 응해주신 학부모와 중학생, 고등학생 여러분께 감사드립니다.
이번 첫번째 세션 Speakers명단과 Zoom 링크는 아래 포스터에 나와있습니다. 렉싱턴에 거주하시는 Finance, Accounting, Marketing 관련 교수님들과 전문가분들께서 발표해주시고 학생들과 질의응답 시간을 가질 예정입니다. 학생들과 학부모님의 많은 참여 부탁드립니다!
