Korean-American Organization of Lexington

The 2026 KOLex Spring Annual Meeting was held on March 13th at 10:00 A.M. at the Lexington Community Center. Thanks to all the members who joined us despite their busy schedules, it was a truly meaningful time to establish our plans for the upcoming year.

The meeting began with a report on our 2025 finances, followed by a discussion on our upcoming plans for 2026 including, participating in the Patriots’ Day Parade, collaborating with the Cary Library for an event, and preparing for the K-Festival scheduled for this fall.

We sincerely thank all the members who shared their valuable opinion for the growth of KOLex. Your continued engagement strengthens the Korean community in Lexington. We look forward to seeing everyone at our future events!

3월 13일 오전 10시, 렉싱턴 커뮤니티 센터(Lexington Community Center)에서 2026년 KOLex 봄 정기 모임을 가졌습니다. 바쁘신 일정 중에도 귀한 시간 내어 참석해 주신 회원분들 덕분에 올 한 해의 계획을 세울 수 있었던 뜻 깊은 시간이었습니다.

이번 모임에서는 2025년 재정 보고를 시작으로, 다가오는 Patriots’ Day Parade 참여, Cary Library와 함께하는 행사, 그리고 올 가을 개최 예정인 K-Festival 준비 등 주요 활동에 대해 논의하였습니다.

KOLex의 발전을 위해 아낌없는 의견을 나누어 주신 모든 회원분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다. 여러분의 열정과 참여가 렉싱턴 한인 커뮤니티를 더욱 빛나게 합니다. 앞으로 예정된 행사들에서도 건강하고 활기찬 모습으로 뵙기를 기대합니다!

Lexington, MA — On a warm, bright spring day, Lexington celebrated its 250th anniversary with a historic parade that brought the community together in festive spirit. KOLex, also one of the participants- proudly represented by a group of dedicated volunteers- waved as they marched through the town’s historic streets.

The parade, which took place on April 19, celebrated Lexington’s historic contributions, honoring its legacy with several bands, civic groups, and cultural organizations. This year, the event drew a huge crowd, reflecting the town’s rich history and diverse, modern-day community.

KOLex’s participation especially showed the growing presence and cultural contributions of the Korean-American community in Lexington. Dressed in traditional outfits such as Hanbok and holding a banner, the volunteers received warm applause from spectators lining Massachusetts Avenue.

For KOLex and its volunteers, the parade was more than a march—it was a moment to honor the town they now call home.

렉싱턴, 매사추세츠 — 따뜻한 봄바람이 부는 가운데, 미국 독립전쟁의 시작점으로 잘 알려진 렉싱턴은 250주년을 맞아 대규모 퍼레이드를 개최하였습니다. 코렉스 (KOLex) 역시 참가 단체 중 하나로, 열정적인 자원봉사자들과 함께 시내의 역사적인 거리를 행진하며 활기찬 모습을 보여주었습니다. 

4월 19일에 열린 이 퍼레이드는 렉싱턴의 역사적 공헌을 기념하고 이를 기리기 위해 여러 밴드, 시민 단체, 다양한 문화 단체들이 참여한 가운데, KOLex는 장구, 한복 등 한국적인 요소와 배너를 앞세우며 행진했습니다. 올해 퍼레이드는 많은 인파가 몰려들어, 이 도시의 깊은 역사와 오늘날의 다양성을 동시에 보여주었습니다. 

특히, 관중들의 뜨거운 환호와 박수를 받은 KOLex 자원봉사자들은, 렉싱턴 지역 사회에서 점점 존재감을 드러내는 한인 커뮤니티의 성장과 활약을 상징적으로 보여주었습니다.

Thank you to everyone who attended our end-of-year lunch and members who unfortunately could not attend but have continued to support and engage in the work KOLex does. We hope everyone has a happy holidays and a happy new year, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the 2025!

To celebrate Thanksgiving, KOLex wanted to express our appreciation and gratitude to those in the Lexington community. From November 20th to 27th, we delivered our handmade care baskets to 14 different locations, including schools, the fire department, the police department, and the central office. We are so grateful for each person who helped deliver these baskets.

땡스기빙을 맞이하여 렉싱턴 커뮤니티에서 수고해 주시는 분들께 감사의 마음을 전하고 코렉스를 알리기 위해 11/20-11/27 동안  렉싱턴 학교들과 소방서 경찰서 커뮤니티 센터 센트럴 오피스 총 14곳에 케어 배스켓을 전달하였습니다. 물건을 사고 포장을 하고 배달을 하기위해 수고해 주신 모든 분들께 감사드립니다.

Today our members gathered at the Lexington Community Center to package KOLex care baskets. We put together baskets filled with Korean snacks and coffee mix, tea, and cup noodles. We plan to have our student volunteers deliver them to each of the Lexington Public Schools and town offices for Thanksgiving Day.

KOLex care basket 포장을 위해 회원분들이 커뮤니티 센터에 모였습니다. 한국 스낵과 커피, 믹스, 차, 컵라면등을 예쁘게 담아 포장하였습니다. 발런티어를 희망한 학생들이 초중고등학교와 관공서에 땡스기빙 전에 배달할 예정입니다.
