Korean-American Organization of Lexington

This morning the AAPI 5K Run ‘n’ Walk Event took place at the LHS field house.

Led by the KSLC member volunteers, KOLex set up a cultural booth displaying KPOP posters, music, and traditional Korean activities (Ddakji, Jegichagi, Tuho throwing) to introduce Korean culture.

We had an amazing time sharing Korean culture, answering questions, and enjoying activities with runners.

We look forward to the leadership of KSLC volunteers in future events, and we’d like to thank all students KOLex parents who made this cultural booth a success!

오늘 오전 LHS field house 에서 AAPI 5K Run ‘n’ Walk 행사가 있었습니다.

KSLC 학생의 리드하에 발룬티어 학생들과 함께 준비하여 컬츄럴 부스를 만들어 Kpop 브로마이드와 음악, 딱지치기, 제기차기, 투호 던지기 등으로 한국문화를 소개 하였습니다.

외국인들이 한국문화에 관심을 가지고 질문도 하고 액티버티도 함께 하며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다.

앞으로도 KSLC 학생들이 리더가 되어 많은 행사에 활약을 기대하며,학생들과 함께 수고해 주신 코렉스 부모님들께 감사드립니다.

This afternooon, Dr. Samjoo Doh’s college entrance seminar took place in the Lexington Community Center.

We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Doh for his engaging and informative 3-hour long presentation about the complex American college application process, as well as Mrs. Kwi-young Choi for inviting Dr. Doh and for taking photos before and after the seminar. 

We would also like to thank our KOLex members for attending and helping arrange this seminar.

오늘 오후 렉싱턴 커뮤너티 센터에서 도삼주 박사님의 입시 기초 세미나가 있었습니다.

익숙하지 않은 미국 대학 입시에 대한 좋은 정보를 3시간 넘도록 열정을 담아 재미있게 발표해 주신 도박사님과,또한 코렉스와 도박사님을 연결해 주시고 시작전과 끝날때 오셔서 사진도 찍어 주신 최귀영님께 특별 감사를 드립니다.

긴 시간동안 함께 하여주시고,도와주신 코렉스 회원님께도 감사드립니다.

Today the My American Story Seminar took place in Depot Square.

KOLex’s vice president Sylvia Han attended the seminar as a panelist, and shared her story about finding her identity and cultural middle ground amongst American culture as a Korean American.

A big thank you to Mrs. Han for representing KOLex at this event!

Thank you to our members of KOLex and KSLC for participating in today’s Patriots’ Day Parade despite the windy, rainy weather.

A special thanks goes out to two of our lovely members Kwiyoung Choi and Boksoon Jo for taking photos and providing delicious donuts for everyone to enjoy!

오늘 비도 오고 쌀쌀한 날씨임에도 불구하고 Patriots’ Day Parade에 참석하여 주신 코렉스 회원님들과 KSLC 학생들에게 진심으로 감사드립니다.

저희 코렉스의 행진을 응원해 주시기 위하여 나오셔서 사진도 찍어주시고,맛있는 도넛까지 챙겨주신 최귀영님과 조복순님께 특별 감사를 드립니다.

Tonight, many members of KOLex and their children came to help out at the Korean cultural booth at the Dance Around the World event. At the booth, we taught people how to make and play dakji, made masks for mask dancing, and taught people how to write their names in Korean.

Among the many cultures’ traditional performances, we were proud to see the Korean dance team perform.

We would like to greatly thank our KOLex members and their children who came and helped out with everything from setting up to cleaning up the booth.

오늘 저녁 Dance Around The World 행사에 우리 코렉스 회원들과 자녀들이 외국인 친구들과 함께 딱지를 접어 신나게 게임도 하고, 탈춤의 영상을 보며 색칠하여 얼굴에 써보기도 하고,우리나라 말로 이름쓰기도 배우는 등 한국 Cultural Booth가 더욱 풍성하고 빛이 났습니다.

또한 각 나라의 전통 댄스를 선보이는 자리에 단연 우리의 전통 춤이 돋보였고,인기가 많아 뿌듯하고 자랑스러운 행사였습니다. 

셋업부터 클린업까지 수고해 주신 코렉스 회원님들과 자녀들에게 깊이 감사드립니다.
