Community Gathering and Vigil

The Lexington community gathered together at Hastings Park from 6-9pm to hold a vigil for the victims of the Atlanta shooting. At this vigil, many people brought their own signs that stated “STOP ASIAN HATE” and lit candles. Also at this vigil, community leaders in Lexington gave speeches about stopping hate crimes against Asians. We had KSLC members volunteering at the event by distributing candles and running the banner signing table. We plan to give the signed banner to the city of Atlanta, Georgia. We thank everyone who attended the event.

렉싱턴 Hastings Park에서 6시부터 9시까지 Atlanta 총기 사건 희생자를 추모하는 vigil이 열렸습니다. 많은 분들이 직접 만든 “STOP ASIAN HATE’ 피켓을 들고, 촛불을 켜고 희생자를 추모하였습니다. 애틀랜타 사건 현장으로 보내질 배너에 사인도 했습니다. 우리 코렉스를 비롯한 이번 행사에 참여한 각 단체의 대표가 스피치를 이어서 하였고, 더이상 Asian 혐오 범죄가 벌어지지 않도록 목소리를 냈습니다. KSLC학생들도 참여하여 사람들이 배너에 사인을 할 수 있도록 사용한 펜을 닦고, 촛불을 나눠주는 등 봉사활동을 하였습니다. 참여해주신 회원분들께 감사드립니다.
