Participation of a celebration honoring the legacy of Maria Hastings Cary, who committed the first funds toward creating a public library in Lexington 150 years ago. There was a live band and dancing, a variety of food and drink, including a specialty Bourbon Bar, and light bites and desserts from local eateries. Special performances include a poem composed and performed by Cary Library’s Poet-in-Residence Regie Gibson.
